Support Israel = call to violence

We have seen what Israel is doing in Gaza and the West Bank, and it is more of the same violence that has occurred to the Palestinians since before its founding.

Israel was always intended as a Jewish ethno-state ever since Zionist groups focused upon Palestine as the intended Jewish homeland. They spoke early on of the need to increase migration of Jews to there and some means of maintaining Jewish control there. Some involved Jewish terrorist groups massacring the inhabitants of several Arab villages, levelling them and giving those lands to Jews, mostly of Ashkenazi descent. This continued through the Nakba into the present. The violence towards non-Jews has been there from before Israel and the recent bombing of Gaza.

With this level of continuous violence towards non-Jews for over 80 years, combined with their willingness to foment wars between the West and Israel's nominated enemies, we can see that Israel has never been, and never intends to be, a country of peace. Modern Israeli leaders advocate elimination of Palestinians and a greater Israel, which will always put them in confrontation with their neighbours. Internally and externally, they are a threat to themselves and other countries, including infiltration of foreign governments designed to put Israeli interests before their own citizens.

Many try to label the Israeli government as the enemy of peace, but separate that from being Jewish. Given that there are no genetic markers that can uniquely identify race, being Jewish comes down to a self-proclaimed identity, which may be heavily influenced by long-term family immersions in Jewish-focused groups. That makes being Jewish a voluntary identity, regardless of whatever those groups propound that there are rules governing that. This means that while there may be Jewish traditions and thinking, there is nothing that grounds them in their physical bodies as inalienably Jewish.

That means that there is no innate requirement for those identifying as Jewish to support Israel nor its actions. While there may be many group and family pressures to do so, perhaps with threats of alienation, it is still a personal decision resulting from each person's own conscience. Yet we see polls showing that the great majority of Israeli Jews, and majorities among Jewish diasporas in the US and other countries, support the actions of Israel and its ongoing apartheid and genocide of Palestinians, and see that as necessary to ensure the existence of Israel as a nation for Jews.

Then we have the many politicians in other countries, and particularly the US, that proclaim that they will defend Israel no matter what. Those, combined with the many that have been supported by huge donations from Jewish and Israeli-backed organisations, or even threatened with professional undermining by them, to follow the same pro-Israel line, even though their own constituents now do not want them to. This is the level of subversion of national interest that have gone into trying to guarantee Israel being allowed to continue its violence towards non-Jews.

This brings us to how separate are people from what they support. After all, many Germans supported the Nazi regime under Hitler, and while many had seen the treatment of Jews and many other groups in the rise and takeover of government by the Nazis, they were largely shielded from what the true depths of depravity the regime had sunk to. It was those depths that lead to genocide being defined and ratified, yet we are seeing that the descendants of those suffering those atrocities under Nazis are willingly supporting the same being done by a government in their name.

How much is support complicity? Certainly ignorance may be a valid excuse, but most Germans saw the increase in the harsh treatment of those marginalised by the Nazis, and yet still supported them, so it is not really a surprise when such treatment goes much further under cover of secrecy. However, with Israel, there was no real secrecy from the Jews in Israel, only from the governments and media in countries supporting Israel from their own citizens. Even Jews in those countries are often given privileged access to what Israel wants to do.

It is only since 2023 that we are all seeing what the Israeli government has been doing, and what Israeli Jews, including in the IDF, have been doing to further apartheid and genocide at a very personal level, down to shooting the unarmed, and getting their own children to sing about killing Palestinians in YouTube videos. This is not ignorance but wholesale support, and any group or individual trying to portray that Israel and its society is not genocidal is outright lying.

Such people cannot be trusted, no matter what else they have done, because if they can rationalise genocide, there is no guaranteeing that they will not be willing to treat you the same. We are coming to a clear division in how we treat each other. It is not enough to espouse humanitarian values if they are conditional upon alliances or money. This is clearly about drawing a line of who we really trust based upon actual performance, not ideology or promises. We each have to now state where we stand and make sure our every action reinforces that. We have to stand up and be counted!
