There are many ways to look at the world.
- Clothes are not beliefs
- People wear clothes for many reasons, but some are prescribed because they are meant to represent a particular set of beliefs.
- Consciousness, free will and a body
- There are only three rights we can really claim entitlement to, being that of having a consciousness, free will, and a body that we can use to some extent. All else is opinion!
- Identity
- So if our personalities are not our true selves, what is identity all about?
- Is it all just noise?
- In this modern world of social media, are we just being swamped by others' noise? How do we keep our sense of sanity in all this?
- Learnings from autistic people
- Autistic people can interpret what is said very literally, which can be a problem when they deal with the often vague or obtuse language most use.
- Mindset is not belief
- Many seem to push the idea that changing our thoughts and views of things is all that is needed to change our lives, but there is much more to it.
- Non-binary is not a gender
- While binary evokes a gender-duopoly, non-binary is really not about gender at all.
- Personal choices
- We tend to believe that in relation to the rest of humanity, our personal decisions don't count for much, but is that really true?
- Pseudo-intellectualism
- Many people are held up as intellectuals and thought-leaders, but is what they are doing actually promoting clear thinking?
- Science, truth and rationality
- We have the capacity for logical thinking, and if it is to be useful to us, it has to be fed by facts, but how do we get those?
- The power of pivoting
- We procrastinate when we can't find a way to get our heads around a problem, but many times it pays just to pick a focus and let it open doors for us.
- The scientific method
- Many see science as based upon facts, but the central process by which those facts are determined is based upon a leap of faith.
- Thought exercise
- We all live with a set of beliefs that largely governs how we look at the world and what we do. However, sometimes need to think about possibilities outside those, without having to commit to them.
- Using our subconscious
- We clutter our minds up with so many worries and questions about them that we block out our most important resource, our subconscious.
- What is wrong with unexceptional?
- There is a lot of peer pressure to be exceptional or have some ability that makes us outstandingly different. Why?
