US right-wing militias

Recent decades have seen a rise in the number of right-wing militias purportedly trying to get back their so-called white-race freedoms.

With the backdrop of a civil war fought over slavery, and the country reaching over half of its citizens being of Latine background, many white US people are seeing their supposedly white Christian country being taken over by foreigners who pollute and subvert their national identity. Hence why many support the idea of the Great Replacement Theory as to why there needs to be a resistance movement to counter it.

This sentiment has been actively fostered by many in the Republican Party, even before the appearance of Trump, though they have substantially ratcheted up the rhetoric since then. Their goal is to create a groundswell of public opinion in favour of bypassing democracy, which they see as weakening white Christian values in favour of secularism, to create an essentially authoritarian government that will supposedly keep the US free of such corrupting influences.

Many militias have a history of anti-government sentiments, some of which have taken to terrorism, so they have seen themselves as the vanguard in the fight against foreign secularism. Trump promoted their possible role in supporting him make that happen, as seen in their rhetoric that prompted the 6 Jan 2021 invasion of Congress to halt the ratification of the 2020 election results that would end Trump's presidency. They have promised violence in the wake of Trump's felony convictions for electoral fraud.

At this point, it may be beneficial to see what life for militias would be like under another Trump presidency, which they have promised would seek retribution on those who crossed them, especially those who challenged them legally. For that, some reference will be made to how Hitler used their supporters in the early days, and what happened as they took power.

Hitler used the Sturmabteilung (Brownshirts) to intimidate Jews and their supporters. However, they became too powerful, and had elements of socialism, which were becoming antithetical to the goal of Nazism. They used the Schutzstaffel (SS) to wipe out the Brownshirts on the Night of the Long Knives. The SS were a far more disciplined and ruthless military unit with direct control by Hitler, compared to the paramilitary Brownshirts with their more independent leadership of Ernst Röhm. With this Hitler assumed full dictatorial control of Germany and its military.

We see here that while paramilitaries may be useful for intimidating civilian opposition, their semi-independent organisational nature means that they are potential challengers to taking full authoritarian control, especially since any such leader will have the full control of the nation's loyal military. This is what the future holds for those US militias who are much less disciplined than the Brownshirts. No absolute leader wants groups fed upon anti-government propaganda roaming around after they realise that they might not be flavour of the month any more.

The future of probably all of these militias under an authoritarian Trump is being hunted down and murdered, no matter how useful they may appear now. At this moment, they are really only a rallying point for the disaffected, so their loss will be of no consequence in a future where the US military will dominate. What many of those in these militias fail to cognise is that their plight is a result of the selfish wealthy who are now backing Trump so that they can fully control the US.

This is just like how the German industrialists allowed the Nazi regime to take power so they could extort more of the wealth of Germany and the rest of Europe. They were joined by many US corporations who profited from both sides in the war. To these people, war is a huge distraction for nations while they gain wealth, and who never seem to suffer any loss of their wealth when the nations they enlisted lost the war. To them, war is just another business model, where the citizens of nations are exploited, and militias become just collateral damage.

Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. However, those who crave war for profit want to repeat it. This is why they secretly support militias and other disaffected dissident groups to create discontent which they then ruthlessly suppress once they take full power. It is the delusion of such militias that they are going to be part of changing their future by force that makes them susceptible to the propaganda that puts them at the centre of the forces of change. Their failure to understand their real place in the scheme of that process is what blinds them to their deadly fate.

ICE had taken over the bullying to be like the Nazi Brown Shirts, but now Trump is trying to reorient the military to make them like the SS that will obey the the president without question, which will likely result in ICE being purged or even eliminated. Under such military rule, all militias will be eliminated.
