Israel – the face of change

!

Israel is seen by many as a nation to be admired, but that is not why it will bring changes.

Certainly, Israeli propaganda positions it as a nation of the dispossessed finally overcoming centuries of discrimination to stand as a modern nation leading the world in how to tame a wild frontier and control its own destiny. It is like the American dream, but only better. It all sounds very good, but that is only because it exported that propaganda to other Western countries by bribing politicians and insinuating its operatives into the higher levels of their governments to maintain support for it, and their media to hide all the shit it does to maintain that facade.

It has made out that it is a Western bastion in a sea of primitive Arab nations, and so is essential for the West's hegemony in the region. Its population is fully behind it, which is more than can be said for other nations, and it is exporting its expertise in state security to the US and other nations. It has made itself so seemingly indispensable to the US that it can steal its Uranium and attack one of its ships with impunity, and yet still get unreserved backing. So what is the problem with it being held up as an exemplar of freedom and achievement?

The fact is it is all a sham. Israel was created as a genocidal apartheid state, ethnically cleansing and murdering the existing population to impose its racist agenda on its own population. Despite its early leaders being secular, they used Biblical prophesies to claim traditional ownership of the land, and used that to indoctrinate generations of its children to despise Arabs and even Jews not descended from Europeans. The indoctrination continued with compulsory military service where soldiers have been required to torment Palestinians.

Israel is a nation that is Nazi in all but name, so why would anyone want to hold it up as some example of what we should aspire to? That too is a con to justify its genocide, but unfortunately has too many Western politicians validating that perspective. The attack by Hamas enabled us to see just what lengths Israel would go to to maintains its genocidal state apparatus, and show us the price that those it attacks have to pay for its prosperity. In this, it is revealing the price of unbounded militarisation and state repression. We are seeing how many of our politicians buy into that as well.

We are finally seeing the true face of what econo-political systems like neoliberalism actually create and require for their continued functioning. Israel is the face of the terror that continuing with such systems will bring us. We are seeing the perfect example of what Dark Triad psychopaths want for all of us, and why they want to destroy democracy and our agency under the guise of protecting our freedom while enslaving us to their repressive and suffocating systems that only create poverty and hardship for humanity and destroy the earth.

Israel is showing us the world that we definitely should not have if we are to survive, let alone flourish. We do not need racist agendas to marginalise others just so we can feel good while we exploit them for our own comfort, yet are ourselves exploited to fuel the avarice of the exceedingly selfish rich. We can have a world that is much better than that, and does not mean that others must lose. The world can support us all, but just not our greed, as that does not scale to allow all to share in this world, nor protect the planet from us.

Israel is not something to aspire to living as, but a warning to us that that is the way of death for us all. It shows us what to avoid, and by its contrast, what proper human-based values we should take to heart so that we can build a world where all are free, and not just a few between some river and a sea.
